ROUND TABLE TALES || Ser Lamorak

Fiction (12-18) Young Adults   •   04 Nov 2025

Sir Lamorak, son of King Pellinore, was considered one of the strongest knights of the Round Table, second only to Lancelot in combat. His reputation was built on both battlefield prowess and unshakable courage. He engaged in many battles defending Arthur’s realm and once fought off thirty knights single-handedly, a feat that solidified his fame.

Despite his battlefield glory, Lamorak’s life was marked by tragic entanglements. He fell in love with Queen Morgause, the mother of the Orkney brothers, which sparked a bitter feud. When Gaheris caught them together, he murdered his mother in a jealous rage. Though Lamorak was not present, the affair made him a target of vengeance from the Orkney clan.

Lamorak’s end came through treachery, not honor. Ambushed by Gawain, Agravain, and Mordred, he was slain in a brutal, dishonorable attack, outnumbered and unarmed. His death was mourned by Arthur, who recognized the loss of a knight with immense potential.

Lamorak's tale is one of greatness eclipsed by vendetta, a knight whose virtues could not shield him from the political and emotional complexities of the Round Table.

Lamorak’s fast, brilliant, and tragic.

He is the knight of raw excellence—strength, speed, courage—who rises quickly and falls violently, not because he is wrong, but because the world around him cannot absorb someone so uncompromising.
